NOTD - Essie mint candy apple with spots

Hi guys im back and today I have a nail of the day for you.
I brought essie mint candy apple a few months ago as it is so hyped up, but I must say im kind of let down, its not really minty at all its more of just a baby blue, which is still nice but not what I was expecting at all.
I love the brush on this polish its the perfect size and distributes a lot of polish, sometimes to much.
I did these nails for a photo challenge I am doing on instagram, I had to do something with spots and I thought what better time to do some nail art.
I used this nail art dotter I brought from amazon a while back and I think they were only like 50p for a pack of 5 and they are all double ended.
I used a rimmel white nail polish in London clouds, which is actually about to run out so if u have any recommendations for white nail polishs let me know.
So I put essie mint candy apple on all of my nails and then waited for them to dry a bit. I then put some of the white nail polish on to the dotting tool and then dotted the white on to my nails in a pattern going downwards, and then on the next line doing the dots in the middle of the other ones if u get what I am saying, u can kind of see it in the picture. Its not the nearest application but its actually quite hard to make it 100% perfect but I did my best.

So I hoped u liked this post and I should hopefully be blogging a bit more from now on and I think im going to do nail posts so look out for them.

What is Galvanic // Beauty Treatments

So this is another post to go along with the beauty therapy series i am currently doing. This series is all about beauty treatments you can have in a salon or a SPA, that either people don't know about or people don't know what it actually does or the benefits of it are.

So today's treatment i am going to talk about is Galvanic
The picture below shows you were you can have the treatment done, and what it looks likes when you have the treatment done on your face and body
All pictures are taken from Google.

Galvanic is a treatment which is used for breaking down and helping cellulite disappear, this is done by softening the area.

Cellulite is thought to be fat cells trapped in the matrix (structure that holds skin cells together, located in the bottom layer of skin). Cellulite is cool to the touch due to trapped toxins, fluid and poor circulation.

You can have galvanic on your Body and face

Body

Benefits
Improves lymphatic circulation
Improves blood circulation
Helps soften hard scar tissue (scars)
Aids dispersal of cellulite

A low direct current passes through to the skin tissues, the current goes through electrically conductive pads which are places into dampened sponges which are covered in anti cellulite gel, the current then pushes the gels into the skin which mobilises the fat cells and releases trapped fluids.

You have two pads, one on the problem area which is the active pad and one on the opposite side which is not active.

You can feel a tingling sensation a bit like pins and needles, this is the treatment doing its job.

Your therapist will cleanse and exfoliate the skin to bring blood to the surface and to make sure there is nothing on the top layer of skin.

Firming gel should be applied at home to help along with the treatment.

Face

You may be thinking 'but i don't get cellulite on my face' well you are right you don't but the facial galvanic is used to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, scaring and removes impurities.

As you can see from the pictures above facial galvanic is very different to body as you don't use pads you use metal electrodes, which are rolled over the face, neck and decolletage. Electro lotion and galvanic gels (Different gels chosen depending on your skin type)are placed onto the skin instead of onto pads, The client holds an unactive electrode and then the therapist moves the active electrodes over the skin, you will taste a metal taste that is when you know the treatment is working.

The treatment is performed like a regular facial, so you will also have a cleanse, exfoliate, massage and mask depending on your skin type, if you have dry or sensitive skin then you can but if you have oily skin then you don't have the massage and mask as the treatment leaves a antibacterial layer on the skin which helps reduce spots and oiliness.

If you type into Google galvanic treatments then loads of pictures will come up with the results of the treatment and you will see how amazing this actually is once you have had a course of the treatment.

I think i have covered everything but if you do have any questions fell free to ask.

Other treatments i have done posts on:

January and February Favorites // Makeup - Skincare

Hello everyone, so today i am doing a favorites post these are a few products that i have been using for both January and February and have been loving very much.

Make-up

Maybelline BROW drama sculpting mascara in dark brown
I brought this at clothes show live for £5 last year, i had wanted to try it for a while so i thought i would pick it up, and lets just say im glad i did. The brush is a bit weird and kind of big so this would be best for people with thick brows. This is great to use when you are in a rush in the morning and don't have time to take forever filling them in with a powder or a pencil. The colour is really good for me not orangey at all and it sets my brows in place all day.

Benefit high beam
I brought this quite a while ago and have been using it of and on since and using it in different ways, but i have recently found a way to wear it that i really like. I use it after foundation and concealer but before powder as it is a liquid product, i put a bit on the back of my hand and then take a brush and dab it on to my cheek bones, it makes me look really glowy and is very natural, when i have finished putting on my powder products i take what ever is left on the brush and dab a bit more on top of my blush.

Rimmel accelerator endless mascara
Again a product i got at clothes show, it was in a set for £5 which is a bargain as this is more than £5 by itself. People have said that its meant to have fibers in it but i haven't noticed them, but this dose make my lashes look realllly long and full, its really easy to apply and the product makes your lashes look lovely.

Bourjois colour burst lip crayon in peach on the beach
This is a great product to use on those days when you are just wearing a bit of makeup but still want a pop of colour on your face, its really long lasting and actually stains the lips, its very glossy and moisturising and the colour looks lovely on the lips.

Skincare

Clinique all about eyes rich
I got given two samples of this from my aunt as she didn't want them and i ended up loving it a lot. Its very moistursing and i really like using it at night time, i use it before my moisturiser so it can really do its job by the eye area and doesn't have any night cream in the way. I really like this and i might be putting the full size on my birthday list depending on the price.

Lush charity pot hand and body lotion
My mom brought me this little pot for Christmas and i must say it is a lovely product. Its not greasy and moisturises you so well, i have only used it as a hand cream but i will try it after i have shaved my legs and if it doesn't sting my legs then the big size is going on my birthday list. When your in lush you should pick one of these up its only £1 and its a lovely product.

The body shop camomile sumptuous cleansing butter
Another product i got for Christmas, i asked for this as people are always going on about cleansing butters so i thought i would ask for a tub of this, its a hard product but once you take some out and warm it up in between your fingers, its turns in to a cream product, i put is straight onto a makeup full face and massage it in, its great as it lifts all the makeup and dirt of the skin ready to be washed away, once i have massaged it in i take a dampened cotton pad and wipe it of i don't use it to take my eye makeup of but i do go over my eyes to make sure everything of, i then wash my face in the shower to make sure everything it off. Its a bit oily but is doesn't leave a residue on the skin.

Therapeutics spot serum
This is just a small sample size that i got when i brought a face wash and sponge at clothes show last year. But as you only need a tiny bit im sure it will last a while. It smells minty and the skin tingles a little when you put it on so it feels like its actually doing something and its really nice, i wont buy the full size as its not overwhelmingly good but i do like it.

Clinique dramatically different moistusing lotion +
I got this sample for Christmas in a set and i ended loving it, its very light but very moisturising and is great under makeup. It smells a bit weird but i can get over that, i really love this and again depending on the price this might be going on my birthday list.

Professional beauty London, Haul

Hello everyone, so on Monday i went to the professional beauty show at the London ExCel. I went with my college and it took us three and a half hours to get their and three hours to get back which felt like ages, but it was worth it as i got all this amazing stuff, i really liked the show and i got everything i wanted and more.

Options low melt paraffin wax around, £4 or £5
I have wanted some paraffin wax for ages as we use it at college, its such a lovely products and i got it for a bargain. If you don't know what paraffin wax is, it is a wax that you apply as a mask to the hands or feet, it makes your skin really soft and im very excited to use it, i brought the fragrance free one as then i would know that no one would have an allergic reaction to it.
Paraffin wax brush, £2 something
I brought a brush to apply the paraffin wax as you need a special one as it drys very fast.
Options disposable mini waxing spatulas, 70p
I wanted some of these for when i wax the brows and top lip as at the moment im just using regular sized one and braking them in half, but for 70p i couldn't say no.
Solutions grape-seed massage oil, £3 something
I needed some massage oil as i don't have any, this was really cheap but the bottle is pretty small so i hope it doesn't run out to fast.

Small bowls £1.20
Medium bowl £2.30
I needed some of these bowls for when i do my treatment so i have some were to put the water and cotton pads.

Jessica mini nail polish set £5.95
I couldn't say no to this as it was so cheap, and i have never tried Jessica before so i am excited to try them.

Jessica Jessana crystal ionized nail soak £3.50
This is a product that you use to clean and nourish the nails, you put some tea spoons into a manicure bowl and then soak the nails in it, this had a really good discount so i had to get it.

Essie to dry for, polish drying top coat £5.50
Essie mint candy apple £4.50
I don't have any Essie nail polishes so when i found out they were like half price i had to pick a few up, i have wanted to try mint candy apple for a while so when i saw that i was very happy. I also picked up the top coat because i thought it looked good, i haven't tried it yet but i hope it good.

Manicure bowl £1.95
I wanted to pick up one of these so when i saw it that cheap i had to pick it up.
Peggy sage nail polish £2
I thought this colour looked really nice and it was only £2 so i deiced to pick it up.

Proto-col instant manicure hand scrub £10
I really wanted some hand scrub so when i saw a stand selling scrubs i had to go over, i asked if i could try this one on my hands and when i used it it felt amazing, its very gritty which is great and then when i washed it off and dried my hands they were so moisturised i just had to get it, it also smells like toothpaste which is great. I now that full price this is £19 so i got a great discount on this.

Nyx taupe blusher £4.50
I have heard great things about this and i now its a great contour colour for pale people.
Nyx peaches & cream butter gloss £4.00
Youtubers talk about these all the time so i had to pick one up, i also wanted eclair but they were sold out :(
Nyx sparkle nude jumbo eye pencil £4.00
I love these jumbo eye pencils so i decided to pick up a gold coloured one as i thought it would look nice under the eye.

Now on to the things i didn't get from then show.

Superdrug purifyng and hydrating face masks two for £3.50
I wanted some face masks for my facial kit, so i thought these were on a good offer so i decided to pick one up for oily skin and one for dry skin.

Polythene paraffin protectors, Sally's £2.13, on sale
When you put the paraffin wax on the hands or feet you have to put some kind of protector on to keep heat in and so the wax doesn't go everywhere, they did have these at the show but they were £5, i did almost buy them but i didn't as i thought they were to expensive so i was very happy when i saw them on sale in Sally's

Thai manicure hand mask, Sally's £2.34, on sale
One thing i really wanted to get from the show was a hand mask but i couldn't find one, so i actually went into Sally's looking for this one and it happened to be on sale which i was very happy about. We use this one at college so i know how lovely this mask is.

Thai manicure hand and arm massage cream, Sally's £2.34, on sale
As the mask was only cheap i decided to pick up the massage cream as well, i got it as i usually use the face and body massage cream a o the hands and arms and i thought this would be nicer, this will be much better as its in a squeezey bottle as my other one is in a pot. We also use this at college so i know it smells amazing and that it has glitter in it.

Pro hair and beauty magazine, Sally's £1.95
As you may know we don't really get beauty magazines in England, so i like to pick up an issue of this whenever i am in Sally's. I also got some free individual lash's with it.

Thank you so much for reading i hope you enjoyed

What is Faradic (EMS) // Beauty Treatments

So as you know i am doing a blog series about beauty therapy, i started of by doing posts on the courses Beauty therapy level 2 and 3, and i will eventually do a post on levels 4 and 5. And now im going to start doing posts on the treatments you can have in a salon or a SPA, that either people don't know about or people don't know what it actually does or the benefits of it are.

So today's treatment i am going to talk about is faradic also known as EMS.
The picture below shows you were you can have the treatment and what it looks likes when the electrodes are strapped onto you.
Both picture are taken from Google.

Faradic is a electrical treatment were an electrical current pass' through your skin to your muscles. It is low frequency alternating current, which is an interrupted direct electrical current. It is used to stimulate and exercise the muscles to create a tightening and toning effect. It is a type of muscle exercise that doesn't involve going to the gym.A 20 minute stomach treatment  is the equivalent of doing 300 sit ups.

You can have this treatment on your face, thighs, bust, stomach and maybe others but im not sure were.

The treatment also helps to stimulate the blood supply in wasted limbs.

The current goes through electrically conductive pads that sit on skin were the muscle is. As the current passes through the pads it triggers the muscle and shows a visible contraction. As it is an alternating current the muscle contacts for 2 seconds and rests for 2.5 seconds (may vary depending on salon/SPA).
The pads have electro lotion on which needs to be there for the current to pass through.

On the face my salon doesn't use pads we use this handheld electrode which are little black rectangle boxes with small pads on the front.

The treatment feels quite strange as your muscles move, its like when your tense your muscles but tingles a bit.

The treatment induces inch loss due to firming of the muscle. Texture of the skin on the face can also be improves as the skin is tightened

I think i have enclued everything but if you have any questions feels free to ask.

Other posts i have done on beauty therapy.
